1956 Ford Pickup

Mike Conklin owns this beautiful 1956 Ford pickup. His father bought it new and gave it to Mike when he turned 16. Mike then took the truck to the high school shop class at Crescent Valley, where he and others including myself worked on it. Needless to say we never got it done. When Mike Conklin, being a business owner himself turned forty he decided he wasn’t going to get it done without some help from Northwest Autofab. He contacted me to take care of the chassis and assemble the vehicle. After all the customizing, Mike conklin and his head painter Charley at Freebird Body and Paint took care of painting the truck.

Interior highlight...air conditioning, power windows, custom dash, specialty wiper motor kit, upholstery was installed by Victor at Chucks Upholstery.

The bed has a custom fiberglass bed floor available at Northwest Autofab, these hold up better in Oregon weather. They can be painted to match your truck etc. The bed also has 3 inch wider rear fiberglass fenders and fiberglass running boards provided by mid fiftys F 100 parts.

The motor and trans is a Mustang 5.0 with an automatic trans. The rearend is also a Mustang and has disc brakes. The front suspension is TCI independent with adjustable coil overs. The rear has stock modified leaf springs. As for braking we decided to use a hydro boost which we mounted under the truck in about the stock location. The fuel cell was designed and built by Northwest Autofab. The 18 and 20" Budnic Famosa wheels really set it off.
